MSN: Girls’ Swimming Season Recap

The Montclair Girls’ Swim team had a very successful season this year. They finished with a perfect record in the regular season and closed out the year with a record of 11-1.

The girls’ team won counties for the third year in a row, with the exception of counties canceled in 2021. At the meet, senior Ela Habjan was awarded the Cullen Jones award for the third time.

They went on to beat Ridgewood to win the sectional tournament for the second year in a row. Their last meet was the semifinals of the state tournament where they put up a great fight against really tough competition.

Throughout the season, the girls broke many records and swam many impressive personal bests. At Counties, the 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay meet records were broken by Carly Frank, Reagan Gilligan, Ela Habjan, and Lily Miklaszewski. Ela Habjan also broke the 100 backstroke meet record.

Special thanks to senior captains Caitlin Foung, Ela Habjan, Sarah Miller, and Noémi Morrison.
