MSN: Wrestling Season Recap

This season the Montclair High School Wrestling team battled every match, and made huge improvements throughout the course of the season.

Early tournaments proved successful for the Mounties. In one tournament, Senior Nelson Claremont took home the first-place title, Sophomore Jayden Lee secured second, and Sophomore Michael Monderoy placed third. Securing 4th place were Sophomore Richard Williams, Junior Ethan Pinilis, and Sophomore Jack Lebiedzinski. Also, Junior Jack Nastri took fifth place. The team was off to a promising start with such strong standings.

The Mounties had a record of 0-6 before picking up a well-deserved win versus Cedar Grove 39-37. Their win against Colombia and Patterson Kennedy gave the Mounties a 3-16 record towards the end of the season. Nelson Claremont placed first once again and Jayden Lee was a finalist in the regional tournament.

Towards the end of the season, Nelson Claremont and Junior Jordan-Brown-Davis were awarded first-team all SEC. Jayden Lee was awarded second team all SEC. Junior JK Powell and Junior Jack Nastri were awarded with honorable mentions.

Congratulations to the Montclair Wrestling team for their hard work and growth throughout this season!
