The Montclair High School Girls’ Basketball team had two tremendous back-to-back performances this past Thursday and Friday.

First, MHS beat the Barringer Blue Bears on Thursday in Newark by 40 points. The final score of that game was 46-6. To read more about that game, check out the recap article by MSN’s, Alana Flynn.

The next day, Montclair returned to Newark and faced St. Vincent Academy. Just like on Thursday, Montclair was dominant from the start. St. Vincent did not score a single point in the first quarter and went down 26-0 going into the second quarter.

This huge lead throughout the game allowed the entire roster to see action. Sophomore Savannah Seawell, Senior Elsa Taylor-Lillquist, and Junior Lizzy Giordano had double-digit point totals.

Seawell was the player of the game recording a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds while also having 2 assists, 2 blocks, and 4 steals.

With this victory, the girls continue an undefeated streak in the Super Essex Conference at 6-0 and their overall record is 6-2. Their next game is today at home against Irvington.
